• The WHS Administration has initiated planning the end-of-the-year events to celebrate you, our seniors. It has been a difficult year for all of us, and we want to recognize the extraordinary efforts your class has put forth over the last four years that continues to make our school so successful. You have all overcome many difficulties, especially over this past year, and you are to be congratulated. As protocols and guidance continue to change, many of the events listed below are still being planned. Here is what is in the works right now:

    2021 Senior Shirts

Look for an email in the next few weeks detailing ordering information for Senior 2021 t-shirts.  Upon purchasing, shirts will be picked up on the same day as the cap and gown.

Early May-Date TBD----Cap & Gown and Yard Sign Distribution

Every senior will receive a non-personalized lawn sign to display their pride as a member of the Class of 2021. These will be handed out at the same time as cap & gown pick-up.

Week of Graduation/Exact Day TBD -Graduation Parade

We will once again host a graduation parade through our parking lot and campus. Seniors and their families will be celebrated by the WHS staff as they drive through. A date has yet to be determined.

Wednesday, May 19 – Senior Honors, Graduation Rehearsal, Graduation

Although the details are still being worked out, please reserve the date for our outdoor commencement ceremony in the stadium. We plan to give our annual senior awards and scholarships on this date while inviting parents of those receiving the awards to attend. This would be followed by graduation rehearsal, with the ceremony in the evening. More information will be sent once it has been finalized. The rain date is Thursday, May 20.

Saturday, May 22 – Senior “Prom” 2021--”Fireworks Display”

We are hard at work organizing a culminating event that will celebrate our seniors and send them off with a bang. This may include more than one event throughout the day. Although this will be somewhat different from the traditional proms of the past, we are confident that this will be a fun day that will allow our seniors to celebrate. Again, all of the details will be sent to you once they are finalized. The rain date is Sunday, May 23.

Again, as all of the information regarding these events is finalized, it will be shared with you. Please keep in mind that we are required to follow all ISBE, IDPH, and CCDPH protocols and guidelines for these events in order to assure the health and safety of everyone who attends. We look forward to providing an exciting end to high school for the Class of 2021.
