District 214’s Annual Report showcases progress, innovation and community impact

High School District 214 is pleased to present its 2023-2024 report to the community, reflecting a year of significant progress, innovation and strengthened relationships. Under the guidance of Superintendent Dr. Scott Rowe, the District embarked on its first comprehensive strategic planning effort in nearly 30 years, aiming to shape the next five years and beyond through a commitment to listening and evolving.

Key achievements include Prospect High School being named a National Blue Ribbon School for exemplary academic performance, while Wheeling High School earned recognition as an Illinois Democracy School, reflecting its dedication to fostering civic engagement. The District also made notable advancements in real-world learning, continuing to partner with over 1,500 businesses to provide impactful internships and apprenticeships, and saw a 154% increase in College and Career Pathway Endorsements for the Class of 2024.

Facility improvements began at Elk Grove and Buffalo Grove High Schools, ensuring our schools remain modern and supportive of evolving student and community needs. Financially, District 214 ended the fiscal year in a strong position, thanks to prudent financial management, robust reserves and efforts to enhance energy efficiency.

The report underscores our dedication to student success, community involvement and responsible resource management as we continue to prepare students for the future.
