For students who want to become dance performers, dance educators, dance therapists, choreographers, directors, coaches and studio owners, the dance pathway offers four years of dance or Orchesis classes and a wide range of career-related activities. In addition, work-based learning experiences include mentorships, internships and microinternships as well as master classes and opportunities to work with guest choreographers.
Work Based Learning Experiences in performance arts
Student interns have completed a variety of tasks in the Performance Arts field, including, but not limited to:
- Working with industry professionals to create, modify, and finalize a portfolio of experiences, such as a demo reel
- Assist in the creation and development of stage sets, lighting, and “back of the house” tasks to ensure a smooth production
- Prepare and participate in live performances to strengthen skill set
