Welcome to the District 214 Summer Experience 2023!
Each year during the summer, High School District 214 provides students an array of educational opportunities and enrichment experiences. Some students make up coursework to stay on track for graduation or choose to improve grades, others participate in transition experiences to prepare for success in high school, and many take advantage of get ahead summer coursework or enrichment opportunities. This year’s 2023’s catalog of summer experiences contains all the information you need to learn about and register for these programs.
All in-person summer coursework will be hosted at Prospect High School in Mount Prospect (with the exception of Extended School Year which will be held at John Hersey High School)
from June 12 to 29 (Semester 1) and July 3 to 20 (Semester 2). Summer enrichment experiences will also be hosted at Prospect High School, typically in week-long experiences. An updated summer experience webpage and registration process will make it easier to register for all summer experiences from the same place. As was the case last year, it will also be easy to identify the appropriate needed course for registration—recommended courses will be prominently displayed and easy to select. These include courses for which students need to recover credit or by invitation only courses.
Families can sign up via mobile devices using a computer, tablet or smartphone to complete the registration process. In addition, all students, regardless of payment method, can now register for courses and enrichment experiences online, including Driver’s Education and SAT Prep classes, just to name a few.. Please visit our website at www.d214.org/summerexperience for more information or speak to your student’s counselor concerning specific courses required for graduation.
District 214 offers summer experiences for all students, from more traditional summer coursework to enrichment experiences to summer athletic camps. We hope your student
will be able to take advantage of some of these opportunities.Sincerely,
Lazaro Lopez, Ed.D.
Associate Superintendent
