District 214 launches strategic planning process

Why conduct strategic planning? For many good reasons, among them the fact that a thoughtfully constructed strategic plan, created with input from key stakeholders, can set the stage for student success, operational efficiency and much more. Such a plan can greatly assist a community in utilizing shared values to fulfill a clearly stated mission.

With this in mind, District 214 is partnering with DeliverEd, an education strategic planning and implementation partner, to design and implement a long-term district vision and five-year strategic plan. Here is where the District invites and needs community input.

“Not only are we looking to identify our priorities for the next five years, but we are also looking for your help to shape the future of public education in District 214 for the next 15 to 20 years to ensure we are meeting the needs of our communities,” said Superintendent Dr. Scott Rowe. “What forces, such as technology, will shape how our students learn and teachers teach? How do we remain flexible enough to adapt to the changes in the workforce? This plan will help set the direction for District 214 to continue to be a place that supports students for college, career and life after high school and continues to provide phenomenal opportunities for them to discover their future.”

District 214 invites all stakeholders to complete a short anonymous survey by June 3 to give feedback for the strategic planning process. The survey is available HERE and is available in multiple languages. This is the first of several chances to engage in the strategic planning process. For more information, go to
