    Location: John Hersey High School
    Session 1: June 10 to June 27, 2024
    Session 2: July 8 to July 25, 2024

    Dear Parents/Guardians,

Each year during the summer, High School District 214 provides students an array of educational opportunities and enrichment experiences. Some students make up coursework to stay ontrack for graduation or choose to improve grades, others participate in transition experiences to prepare for success in high school, and many take advantage of get ahead summer coursework or enrichment opportunities. This year’s 2024 catalog of summer experiences contains all the information you need to learn about and register for these programs.

All in-person summer coursework will be hosted at John Hersey High School in Arlington Heights from June 10 to 27 (Session 1) and July 8 to 25 (Session 2). Extended School Year (ESY) will be held at Forest View Education Center from June 10 to 27 (Session 1). Summer enrichment experiences will also be hosted mainly at John Hersey High School, in week-long experiences. This updated summer experience webpage and revised registration process will make it easier to register for all summer experiences from the same place.

As was the case last year, it will also be easy to identify the appropriate needed course for registration — recommended courses will be prominently displayed and easy to select. These include courses for which students need to recover credit or by invitation only courses.

Registration will begin in March 2024

Families can sign up via mobile devices using a computer, tablet or smartphone to complete the registration process. In addition, all students, regardless of payment method, can now register for courses and enrichment experiences online, including Driver’s Education and SAT Prep classes, just to name a few.

District 214 offers summer experiences for all students, from more traditional summer coursework to enrichment experiences to summer athletic camps. We hope your student will be able to take advantage of some of these opportunities.
